Remembrance Day of the Holocaust of the Greek Jewry was inaugurated on February 21, 2008 at the Consulate General of Greece in New York with introduction by Consul General of New York, Hon. Aghi Balta, welcoming remark by Rabbi Martin Cohen, remark by Consul General of Cyprus in New York, Hon. Andreas Panayiotou, closing remarks by Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios followed by screening of a documentary by Tony Lykouressis, “ The Song of Life – To Tragoudi tis Zois”, the Odyssey of the Jewish Community on the island of Zakynthos (Aznte) from the mid 15th century to the present day.
